I believe the reader will find these links as useful as they are interesting.

PressfieldI can't say enough about Mr. Pressfield and the breadth of his work. Novelist, screenwriter, commentator, editorialist ... he does it all with professional dignity and personal aplomb. His body of work speaks for itself. You can learn about him and his work at this site. In June 2009, Mr. Pressfield 're-invented' himself yet another time as he produced a series of five videos as a follow up to his OpEd piece several years ago, "It's the Tribes, Stupid." This link will currently take you directly to those videos. A link on that site will take you to Mr. Pressfield's home web page where you can read about his other work.

TrikeriotisJohn Trikeriotis has created a marvelous site on "300 Spartan Warriors" packed with stories, images and information about the Battle of Thermopylae and virtually everything surrounding it from historical documents to contemporary interpretations and analysis. SpartanJim Stamps' "Spartan and Amazon Warriors" site provides a slick look at a Greek re-enactment group from Western Pennsylvania. Highlights include a clear summary of the ancient Olympic games as well as some Spartan recipes.

PerseusThe Perseus Digital Library hosted by Tufts University is indispensable for anyone conducting in-depth historical research, most specifically in Greek and Roman materials and 19th century America.

PangalosI expect a lot from Chris Pangalos's "Warriors of Greece" web site as he continues to develop it. A U.S. Marine veteran, Chris is a brother-in-arms and a fabled Spartan re-enactor who may be at his best when he takes his Spartan lore into the classroom or to the many events that he and his other re-enactors frequently attend.

DurantWill Durant and his wife Ariel have been writers of history for half a century. They and few others like them have kept our human heritage alive. I wish I shared more in common with Mr. Durant other than the fact we were both born in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. Alas, I am humbled by his work and greatly encourage all historians, professional and otherwise to explore his History of Civilization. This website will wet your appetite.

SRThe folks at Sports Reference have been very helpful with research on my current project. This link will lead you to a fascinating blog on Olympic history and analysis. I know you will enjoy it. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at SR.

lhwFrom the hoplites of ancient Greece to the 101st Airborne and everywhere in between, you can find a living history group that will give you a better understanding of the world around you and why it is the way it is.
